Armenian-American philanthropist, founder of Children of Armenia Fund (COAF), Garo Armen’s statement addressed to Armenian authorities

I am the founder of the Children of Armenia Fund (COAF), an organization which has dedicated itself to the well-being and the prosperity of our young generations. As responsible Armenians, we all want to ensure that our future generations can prosper in the safety of our country. The world we live in is progressing at a remarkably fast pace, driven by advances in technology and communication. With this reality, we all share a responsibility to listen to what our people have to say, because the future leaders of our country will emerge from among them. These young people will help create a new and beautiful Armenia that we can all be proud of. Turning a blind eye to the realities as expressed by these young generations of Armenians, and the old alike, is nothing short of irresponsible. Coming up with excuses to prolong the eventualities our country will face will simply prolong the pain for those who want change as well as those who need to change. I have been hearing, loud and clear, the pleas and heartfelt calls of our youth and our families. And they have no ill-intentions; they simply want change and they want to be heard. Our leaders should listen hard, as it is not too late before a bad situation gets even worse. Change is inevitable, for it is through change that progress is born.
