Armenia beats Spain in Women’s World Team Chess Championship

29.09.2021 | 16:18In the 3rd round of Group A of the Women’s World Chess Championship, under way in Spain, the Armenian team competed with India and lost 2.5-1.5. In this round, incumbent European champion Elina Danielyan tied, Lilit Mkrtchyan defeated the opponent, and Anna Sargsyan and Susanna Gaboyan lost.
In the 4th round, the Armenian team defeated Spain 3.5-0.5. Lilit Mkrtchyan, Anna Sargsyan and Susanna Gaboyan surpassed their rivals. Only Elina Danielyan ended the game in a draw.
Currently, the Armenian team is the second in subgroup A. In the last, 5th round, the Armenian team will play against the currently leading Russian team. The championship will end on October 3.
