Boxer Hovhannes Bachkov (63 kg) became a bronze medalist of the 32nd Summer Olympic Games. In the semifinals, Bachkov lost to the American Keyshawn Davis, thus winning a bronze medal.

This is the 4th medal of Armenia in Tokyo 2020. Earlier, weightlifter Simon Martirosyan (109 kg) and Greco-Roman wrestler Arthur Aleksanyan (97 kg) won silver medals, and gymnast Arthur Davtyan won bronze.
