Over 300 people contracted coronavirus during Olympic Games

The highest daily rate of coronavirus infection was recorded during the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo: in one day, 29 people involved in the games became infected, a report published on August 4 by the Tokyo 2020 Organizing Committee said, DW reported.
There are four athletes among the infected. The total number of cases of coronavirus infection among the contestants thus reached 322. Due to the deteriorating epidemiological situation in the Japanese capital, the state of emergency has been extended until August 31. In particular, it imposes a ban on the sale of alcohol in food establishments, a restriction on spectators’ access to public events. It should be noted that due to the epidemic situation, the Olympic Games are being held without spectators this year.
