21.12.2021 | 19:55If the United States and NATO refuse to discuss security guarantees with Russia, all possible retaliation will be considered; much depends on the reaction of the Western countries, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Rudenko, commenting on the possibility of deploying nuclear weapons in Belarus, said, RIA Novosti reported.
Earlier, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko had said that Minsk would offer Russia to deploy nuclear weapons on its territory if NATO takes such a step in Poland. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Lukashenko’s words should be taken as a warning to the West.
“All issues are discussed comprehensively. We have heard such proposals from our Belarusian allies. All options will be considered, but, as I said, it will depend on the response we expect from the United States and NATO,” Rudenko said.
