02.12.2021 | 20:12The situation in Nagorno Karabakh and on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border remains tense. Armenia is ready for peace in the region, it is ready for negotiations to achieve it, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said today at the OSCE Ministerial Council meeting.
“A year after the aggression carried out by Azerbaijan against the people of Nagorno Karabakh, the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and in Nagorno Karabakh remain tense. Since May 1, 2021, the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan have invaded the territory of the Republic of Armenia and are still in the sovereign territory of Armenia. By its aggressive actions, Azerbaijan is grossly violating the UN Charter and the Helsinki Final Act,” said Mirzoyan, stressing that in doing so, Azerbaijan is violating the November 9, 2020 agreement to end all hostilities.
“Azerbaijan not only continues to ignore calls from the international community for the immediate release of all prisoners of war and detainees without preconditions, but also increases their numbers. No excuse can justify these actions,” Mirzoyan said.
