19.11.2021 | 18:15The humanitarian situation and the rights of the residents of the adjacent settlements continues to worsen after the establishment of the so-called Azerbaijani border and customs checkpoints between November 11 and November 15 without legal grounds on the Goris-Kapan and Kapan-Chakaten roads from, the office of the Armenia Human Rights Defender says.
Among other findings, the Human Rights Defender’s Office fact-finding group says its November 8-18 mission revealed that the villages of Chakaten, Shikahogh, Srashen, Nerkin Hand, Tsav, Shishkert due to the closure of the Kapan-Chakaten road, have found themselves in a very uncertain and unpredictable situation. From the day (November 15) when the so-called Azerbaijani checkpoints were installed on the Kapan-Chakaten road, the already endangered right of people to free movement has been severely restricted.
