Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu has said that Turkey provides and will continue to provide all possible assistance to Azerbaijan.

“However, in order to speed up the reconstruction of Karabakh, it is necessary to clear the territories of mines planted by Armenians. It is not known where the mines are placed. Armenians have handed over some maps of minefields to Azerbaijan, but the rest have not been provided yet,” said Cavusoglu, noting that Armenia should soon take positive steps to ease the situation, normalize relations and bring peace.

“Armenia must hand over the maps of all the mines placed in those territories to Azerbaijan as soon as possible. After all, the territories must be cleared of mines so that people do not lose their lives in their native lands. Azerbaijan has never been alone, we will never leave Azerbaijan alone. Let everyone know about it,” said Cavusoglu.

He did not say anything about the Armenian prisoners of war being illegally detained in Azerbaijan, the return of which is enshrined in the trilateral statement of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan on November 9, 2020.  He also did not speak how the presidents of Turkey and Azerbaijan cynically discussed the issue of Armenian captives held in Baku months ago while heading to the occupied Armenian Shushi of Artsakh. Joining the conversation, the wife of the Turkish president, Emine Erdogan, “advised the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Ali, to keep the Armenian prisoners of war, and return them in groups.”
