The United States can contribute to resolving outstanding issues between Armenia and Azerbaijan, US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Lee Litzenberger told journalists. He said the United States contributes to the settlement of unresolved issues, both under the OSCE Minsk Group and in the unilateral dimension. Litzenberger stressed that in exchange for the return of Armenian captives held in Azerbaijan as a result of unilateral mediation, Armenia provided maps of minefields. He added that there are still many unresolved issues between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
“I cannot predict in advance how the unresolved issues will be resolved,” Litzenberger added. According to him, the United States seeks to unite the parties so that these issues are settled fairly and equally.
“I know that it takes some time and process. We will continue to work together to help the parties and the people of the region live in peace and coexistence,” he added.
