Artsakh resident captured by Azeris was tortured, Artsakh Prosecutor’s Office says

A report by the Artsakh Prosecutor’s Office says that on July 26, A.M., a resident of Machkalashen village of Artsakh’s Martuni region, while searching for his lost animals, found himself in the area under Azerbaijani control. Hours later, he was returned to Artsakh. A medical examination conducted later revealed that the person, who has mental problems, was subjected to severe torture that has resulted in numerous injuries.
A criminal case has been launched under Article 118, Part 2, Clause 7 of the Artsakh Criminal Code (torture committed on the grounds of national hatred).
