Situation on Armenian-Azerbaijani border not connected with Nagorno Karabakh conflict – Zakharova

The situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border is not connected with the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said.
“The situation under the Russian peacekeeping force remains relatively stable. Separate incidents are resolved immediately in cooperation with Azerbaijani and Armenian partners. There are no provocative actions against Russian peacekeepers,” she said.
Zakharova added that Russia is ready to contribute to the establishment of a peaceful life in Nagorno Karabakh, as well as to the strengthening of trust between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
“As for the border situation in certain parts of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, I would like to underscore once again that we proceed from the fact that it is not directly connected with the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, it is connected with the lack of international legal settlement. The general background is undoubtedly aggravated by the lack of mutual trust between the parties,” she said.
