Aliyev considers the risks of escalation in Nagorno-Karabakh to be minimal

01.04.2021 | 14:12President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev stated at a meeting with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk in Baku that there is a positive development in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and considers the risks of escalation to be minimal. This was reported by the Azerbaijani media.
“There is a topic of discussion and it is important in terms of economic preferences, regional cooperation, which strengthens security and peace in the region. It is especially possible that the situation is developing in a positive direction, the risks of escalation are minimal”, Aliyev said.
He also noted that the work continues successfully within the framework of a trilateral working group.
“Very intensive discussions are in process. I am regularly informed about that issue. I am glad that the decision made confirms its truthfulness and most importantly, there is already a concrete result. As far as I know, 5 sessions have already been held remotely via video conference”, Aliyev said.
