In 2021, from March 22 to March 26 included, the “Humanitarian Demining Center” foundation found 75 pieces of ammunition in the area of Aygestan village, of which 16 large-caliber ammunition were destroyed, Artsakh’s Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure informed, Artsakhpress reports.
The work was carried out in Martuni and in the city of Martakert. As a result, 3045 pieces of ammunition were found in the territory of Martuni region, of which 24 pieces of large-caliber ammunition were destroyed, and 526 pieces of different types of ammunition were found in the city of Martakert. At the moment, the works are going on in Aygestan, Khnatsakh, Martakert region, Karmir Shuka village of Martuni region, Verin and Nerkin Sznek of Askeran region. As a result of the work performed, in 2020, during the period from September 27 till today, 477.039 different types of projectiles and ammunition were found and destroyed in the territory of the republic.
Since November 22, 2020, the “Humanitarian Demining Center” has been carrying out demining works with the Demining Center of the Russian Federation. Since December 7, 2012, together with the sapphire group of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation.
