The meeting of the interdepartmental working group on Syunik issues chaired by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took place today, the PM’s office said.

As you know, on January 15 of this year, by the decision of the Prime Minister, an interdepartmental working group on Syunik issues was set up. We have gathered today to summarize this year’s results. I must state that in 2021, programs of about 1.1 billion drams have been implemented in Syunik province. These programs have a wide range, from agriculture to sports, I think they have played a significant role in this new environment, in order to increase and strengthen the resilience of Syunik region.

I would also like to emphasize that the issue of opening regional communications is also an essential factor for the further development of Syunik province We have already announced that we are starting the preparations for the construction of the Meghri section of the Yeraskh-Julfa-Ordubad-Meghri-Horadiz railway.
