Turkey’s Erdogan offers mediation between Russia and Turkey again

Turkish President Erdogan has again offered mediation between Russia and Ukraine in any format that suits the sides, RIA Novosti reported.
Earlier, Erdogan had said that Turkey was ready to act as a mediator between Russia and Ukraine, to which Kiev responded positively, while Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia is not a party to this conflict.
“We are paying close attention to the events taking place in Ukraine and around it. We want to maintain stability in the region. Turkey is ready to assist in reducing tensions between Ukraine and Russia, which have escalated in recent weeks and created a wave of dialogue. By agreement of both parties, we may offer assistance, mediation or assistance in any measure. Of course, we are ready to do everything in our power for peace in the region without hesitation,” Erdogan told Turkish reporters on a plane returning from Qatar.
