Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan today received Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko, Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan also attended the meeting, the press service of the government said in a statement.

Issues related to the agenda of bilateral cooperation between Armenia and Russia, as well as the activities of the trilateral working group of the deputy prime ministers of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan were discussed. The parties discussed the prospects of restoration of transport communications in the South Caucasus region, the further course of the work carried out in line with the January 11 statement.

Earlier,  Overchuk had met with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. According to local media reports, they discussed in detail the activities of Russian companies in the occupied territories of Artsakh, the growth of trade and mutual investments. The parties expressed satisfaction with the fact that the Russian-Azerbaijani trade turnover has increased by 7% this year.

It was also mentioned that the speedy opening of transport communications between Armenia and Azerbaijan will contribute to the stability and economic development of the region.
