Washington welcomes meeting between Armenian, Azerbaijani leaders, US envoy to Azerbaijan says

The United States supports the direct contacts between Azerbaijan and Armenia, which are aimed at normalizing relations between the two countries, US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Lee Litzenberger has said, local media reported.
He said he was pleased to see the announcement about that meeting and that the United States has worked hard to bring the leaders face to face, he said when commenting on the meeting between the prime minister of Armenia and the president of Azerbaijan scheduled for December 15 in Brussels on the sidelines of the Eastern Partnership summit.
He said the United States and Russia have good cooperation on only one platform – the OSCE Minsk Group. He added that the Biden administration is interested in the South Caucasus and Azerbaijan, and that the United States wants to support the process of restoring relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
