MFA spokesman comments on Armenia’s application to Russia, UN Security Council with regard to border escalation

On applying to the Russian Federation – The Republic of Armenia is in direct and multilevel relations with ally Russia. As you know, the Armenian prime minister and the Russian president had a telephone conversation, during which Nikol Pashinyan presented the situation to Vladimir Putin. In this context, the leaders of the two countries discussed possible joint steps, the implementation of which is enshrined in a bilateral legal framework, in line with allied relations.
On applying to the UN Security Council – The Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has already informed the President of the UN Security Council about the situation. We would like to note that in order to protect the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Armenia, the use of all instruments of international law and diplomatic practice is considered.
