Eduard Aghajanyan, Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations and a member of the ruling Civil Contract faction, made a statement at today’s NA sitting on the events Nov. 14 events on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.

“Azerbaijan continues its policy of aggressive and provocative actions on the border with Armenia. According to the Armenian Security Council, on November 14, in one of the eastern sections of the Armenia-Azerbaijan border, the Azerbaijani armed forces, with the support of military equipment, entered the territory of the Armenai. As a result of the talks, most of the military equipment was withdrawn, but the Armenian side suffered positional losses,” Aghajanyan said. He said, as a result of this action, Azerbaijan has strengthened its positions it gained in May 2021.

“After the incursion on May 12, Azerbaijan has occupied about 41 square kilometers of the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia in about 11 sections,” Aghajanyan said. He added that the ceasefire violations at the border are of daily nature, reminding that after May 12 Armenia applied to the CSTO with a proposal to monitor the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, but so far nothing has been done.
