Speaking at the National Assembly, Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahe Gorgyan told about the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan with the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs in New York.

“I think the biggest result was the meeting of the Armenian Foreign Minister and the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs in New York on September 23-24, which was followed by a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan. The OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs issued a statement reaffirming their commitment to the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. This is a very important record at this stage. We will continue our efforts in this direction. I think that in the near future there will be new meetings, conditions will be created for the full resumption of the peace process,” he said.

Gevorgyan said that Armenia considers it important that the proposed regional cooperation formats do not duplicate the existing ones.

“There are several proposals for regional cooperation and the “3 + 3 “is one of them. We need to adopt a common position towards everyone. The priority for us is the protection of Armenia’s national interests, the calculation of dangers and risks. It is a priority for us not to have a copy with the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs.All these proposals are being considered. Now it is too early to talk about any progress or decision,” said Gevorgyan.
