Azerbaijan president says lawsuit filed against mining company that operated in Artsakh

Azerbaijani President Aliyev has said that a lawsuit has already been filed against foreign companies who worked in the occupied Kovsakan (Zangelan) region of Artsakh for “conducting illegal activities there,” Azerbaijani media reported.
“Vezhneli gold mine was illegally exploited by Armenians together with foreign companies. We have started lawsuits against those companies,” Aliyev said during a visit to Kovsakan. He also mentioned that one of the main tasks now is to clean the rivers from intensive pollution.
Azerbaijan has repeatedly stated that it will start lawsuits against mining companies in Artsakh, but in fact no lawsuit has been filed yet, Baku has not yet applied to an international court.
