Russia wants more Russian-language schools in Armenia

15.10.2021 | 18:02Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, speaking at the 7th World Congress of Russian Compatriots Living Abroad, announced that five new Russian schools will be opened in Tajikistan as part of an initiative to strengthen the Russian language. He also said that similar programs are being prepared for Uzbekistan, and that Armenia, according to Lavrov, is interested in the project too.
According to TASS, Lavrov said that Russia is taking active steps to “strengthen the position of the Russian language, Russian culture and the Russian world in general” in accordance with President Vladimir Putin’s order.
