29.09.2021 | 18:43The recent meetings on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly were constructive, US Ambassador to Armenia Lynne Tracy told journalists today, referring to the discussions with the participation of the Minsk Group Co-Chairs in New York.
Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan and Azerbaijani Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov held separate discussions with the participation of the Co-Chairs.
“We will see how we can support and ensure the continuity of the talks that started in New York. This is a local solution for the OSCE Minsk Group, which must be comprehensive and ensure peace for the region,” the ambassador said.
As for the normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations, she said that the parties should be ready for reconciliation.
“The United States stands ready to support and facilitate reconciliation and dialogue efforts. Now the situation in that part is not clear yet! People need to feel confident about reconciliation efforts, and we are ready to focus our diplomatic efforts on that,” Tracy concluded.
