Armenia’s Ombudsman Arman Tatoyan presented a special report on Azerbaijan’s responsibility for torturing and inhumanely treating Armenian prisoners of the 2020 Karabakh war.
The report indicates the gross violations of human rights of the Armenian captives and civilians, their torture and inhuman treatment by Azeri servicemen, and the conditions of their captivity. Tatoyan said that the report is completely based on evidence.
“The facts have been verified with information obtained from various sources. The report has the highest level of substantiation,” he said. He said all the detainees were subjected to systematic torture, both physical and mental. Azerbaijani servicemen and employees who tried to treat the captives a little better were punished.
