At his meeting with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov called the bilateral relations with Armenia full.

“It’s the economy, the investments, the security sphere, we are allies in the CSTO, as well as in the humanitarian, scientific, educational spheres,” he said. He added that Russia is interested in the continuation and enrichment of these relations. One of the strong aspects of cooperation is cooperation on international platforms. According to Lavrov, Yerevan and Moscow closely cooperate in the UN, the OSCE and the Council of Europe, there is a mechanism for consultations on various aspects of world politics. Lavrov said the settlement of the Karabakh conflict is a possible direction of cooperation. According to him, there are a number of issues that are directly discussed by the presidents and the prime minister.

“There are issues that are resolved on a daily basis by the military and border guards of the three countries. The mechanism of the trilateral working group on unblocking regional communications is functioning at the level of deputy prime ministers,” he added. Lavrov also thanked Mirzoyan for his first visit to Russia as foreign minister, adding that this once again underscores the special nature of bilateral relations.
