Commander on trial in connection with surrender of two Atsakh villages not to be detained

Lt Col Arsen Ghazaryan, accused of surrendering the villages of Khtsaberd and Hin Tagher in the Hadrut region and responsible for the capture by the Azeri military of 62 Armenian troops, will not be detained, Ghazaryan’s lawyer Vahan Hovhannisyan told Factor.am.
Lt Col Ghazaryan has been charged with several articles of the Criminal Code, such as failure to carry out orders, leaving combat positions, refusing to use weapons, etc.
Ghazaryan denies any wrongdoing. His attorneys say the ruling regime is trying to make a scapegoat of him.
