Sergo Karapetyan, who held the post of the Minister of Agriculture in 2010-2016, died of coronavirus. He was in the intensive care unit of “Nairi” Medical Center, Hraparak reports. Sergo Karapetyan was born on August 6th, 1948 in the city of Artashat (Ararat region). He graduated from the Armenian Agricultural Institute.

From 1965 to 1972 he worked in “Artashat Cannery” holding various positions. In 1972-1986 he was the chief engineer of “Sovkhoz” cannery in Artashat.

1986-1987 He worked as a director full system forell farm in Azat.

From 1987 to 1995 he was the general director of the “Sovkhoz” cannery of Artashat. Then, until 2011, the chairman and the general director of the “Artashat cannery” company. In 2010-2016 he held the position of the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Armenia.
