Armenian Minister of High-Tech Industry Vahagn Khachaturyan on August 23 met with Chinese Ambassador to Armenia Fan Yong to discuss cooperation. Minister Khachaturyan said the development of bilateral cooperation is very important for Armenia. He said the Ministry provides support to the private sector in order to be establish and strengthen the high-tech industry. He also expressed conviction that in this respect the rich experience of China is invaluable, which has become a leading technological country in a short time.

“Our country is in a situation where there is a need to change the logic of economic development. We must become an exporting country from an importing country, including in terms of technology,” Khachaturyan said.

The Chinese ambassador congratulated the minister on assuming the new post, noting that significant investments have been made in the Chinese economy in the BTA sector over the past 40 years, the results of which are obvious. He stressed that the development of cooperation between the Ministry of Industry and Information Technologies of China and the Armenian Ministry of BTA is very promising.
