During his visit to Nakhchivan, US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Lee Litzenberger said Azerbaijani-American relations are based on three pillars: security, economy and energy, human rights and legal regulation are related to it.
“The United States intends to expand cooperation with Azerbaijan, including Nakhichevan, in all the areas I have mentioned,” he said. “For example, we can support the State Customs Committee and the State Border Guard Service in the fight against drug smuggling and other types of smuggling. At the same time, we are interested in discovering opportunities for cooperation with American companies, which can be beneficial for both countries. Most importantly, we want more students from Nakhichevan to participate in US-funded government programs. And I am convinced that during my visit we managed to lay the foundation for all this work,” Litzenberger said.
