Court of Appeals sustains prosecution’s appeal in Ruben Vardazaryan’s case

The Court of Appeals has ruled to sustain prosecution’s appeal in Ruben Vardazaryan’s case. The appeal was filed after the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction ruled on May 31, 2021 in favor of Ruben Vardazaryan, the president of Armenia’s Supreme Judicial Council, who was temporarily suspended at the time.
The court had explained it ruling by the fact that the Prosecutor’s Office had not obtained a prior consent from the Supreme Judicial Council.
