04.08.2021 | 14:46Speaking to residents of Martakert region, Artsakh President Arayik Harutyunyan said the situation in the region is such that Artsakh is not able to ensure its security on its own.
“Victory is not final, defeat is not fatal. To have courage to live on — that’s the key. We have had a victory for 30 years, which I will call a temporary success, because if the victory is not final, it is not a victory. We have failed, it is not a defeat, but we must find, rediscover ourselves, continue our struggle. Our work today is conditioned not only by our daily life, our life and activities, but also by the fate of our children and our generations,” Harutyunyan said.
He said the presence of Russian troops in Artsakh should not be temporary, but permanent. “If it were not for the entry of Russian troops into the region, we would have a much different fate. There are different stupid interpretations, some say different things to justify themselves or blame others. There was no betrayal, there was no betrayal, we fought with limited opportunities,” Harutyunyan said. At the same time, he stressed that one should not hope that someone will come and save our country. “No, the saviors are us who live here, we must realize what we have to do.”
