Baku court sentences Armenian POWs Ludvig Mkrtchyan and Alyosha Khosrovyan to 20 years in prison each

A Baku court sentenced today Armenian prisoners of war Lyudvig Mkrtchyan and Alyosha Khosrovyan to 20 years in prison each. They were found guilty of apparently fabricated charges of torturing Azerbaijani prisoners of war in the first Artsakh war and other crimes. Earlier, their attorney asked the court to prosecute them under Article 318 of the Azerbaijani Criminal Code – illegal crossing of the state border.
Earlier, several other Armenian POWs were sentenced to various prison terms under fabricated criminal charges: Lebanese-Armenian Vigen Euljekechyan was sentenced to 20 years in prison, Shirak residents Hrach Avagyan and Gegham Serobyan to four years in prison each, 12 others to six months. The latter, however, returned to Armenia on July 3.
Two other groups of prisoners of war from Shirak province, a total of 26 prisoners, were sentenced to six years in prison; while Davit Davtyan and Gevorg Sujyan to 15 years in prison each.
