In the first six months of this year, the 1,000 largest taxpayers of Armenia paid AMD 584,440,000,000 (about US $1.2 billion) in taxes, a 9.3% increase compared with the same period of the last year.

Gazprom Armenia leads the top ten list (it was the second last year) with more than AMD 28 billion.

Zangezur Copper and Molybdenum Combine is the second with almost AMD 27 billion, followed by the Ministry of Defense with more than AMD 25 billion.

The Grand Tobacco company is in the 4th place. This year the company paid about AMD 13 billion, a 50% drop compared with the last year.

GeoProMining Gold Company, which operates Sotk and Meghradzor gold mines in Gegharkunik region and Kotayk region, concludes the list of the top five largest taxpayers. Although the taxes paid by the company decreased by 2.6 billion drams, nevertheless, it maintained its position in the 5th place of large taxpayers.
