Aliyev approves defense agreement with Belarus

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has approved an agreement on “exchange of classified information between the Ministries of Defense of Azerbaijan and Belarus in the framework of bilateral cooperation,” Azerbaijani media reported.
The agreement was signed in Baku on May 18, 2021. Earlier in April, Lukashenko held informal talks with the Aliyev for more than five hours. The content of their talks was not disclosed. On May 18, Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin arrived in Baku at the invitation of his Azerbaijani counterpart Zakir Hasanov. No details were reported about this meeting.
