Hearing of 13 Armenian POWs postponed

15.07.2021 | 13:46The court session in the fabricated case of 13 prisoners of war from Armenia’s Shirak Province scheduled for today in Baku’s Court of Grace Crimes was postponed, because “the attorneys of two defendants were absent.”
Azerbaijani media reported earlier that examination of the case documents was expected at today’s session that was supposed to be the last one.
The next court session is scheduled for July 29.
The 13 Armenian prisoners of war standing the trial are: Yeghishe Astanyan, Karen Aramyan, Tigran Avagyan, Grigor Gevorgyan, Hovsep Manukyan, Gevorg Mortirosyan, Robert Gevorgyan, Vagharshak Avetisyan, Volodya Hakobyan, Andranik Sukiasyan, Andranik Manukyan, Grigor Saghatelyan, Eduard Kirakkosyan. They are charged with terrorism, sabotage and other crimes.
Earlier, the hearing of another group of 13 Armenian POWs from Shirak Province set for July 12 was postponed for the same reason: “the absence of the lawyer of one of the defendants.”
