Georgia and Turkey intend to expand free trade agreement

The 12th meeting of the Joint Committee under the Georgian-Turkish Free Trade Agreement took place in Ankara, during which talks were held between the two countries on amendments to the Free Trade Agreement. The Georgian delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Economy Gennady Arveladze, and the Turkish side was headed by Deputy Minister of Commerce Mustafa Tuzju. According to Avreladze, the amendments to the agreement and the further liberalization of agricultural tariffs will increase exports from Georgia to Turkey and help Georgian producers to make their agricultural products more competitive in the Turkish market.
