Aliyev, Putin discuss situation in Nagorno Karabakh in telephone conversation

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev had a telephone conversation, on the initiative of Aliyev, the Kremlin press service reported.
“The parties discussed the practical aspects of the implementation of the November 9, 2020 and January 11, 2021 agreements between the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia over Nagorno Karabakh. Special attention was paid to the intensification of tripartite work on the restoration of economic ties and transport communications in the South Caucasus,” the statement said.
In addition, during the discussion of current issues on the bilateral agenda, Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev reaffirmed their mutual understanding to further strengthen the Russian-Azerbaijani strategic partnership. An agreement was reached to continue contacts at different levels.
