Armenian permanent representative’s letter to UN Security Council is an official document but not an application

23.11.2021 | 15:09The November 16 letter of the Armenia’s permanent representative to the president of the UN Security Council on the armed offensive of Azerbaijan on the territory of Armenia was published as an official document of the Security Council, available at the following link: https://undocs.org/en/S/2021/954, according to the Facebook page of the Republic of Armenia Permanent Mission to the UN.
It is noteworthy to mention that the above-mentioned document is of an official nature, but is not a direct application from Armenia to the UN Security Council. After the new hostilities launched by Azerbaijan on November 16, the members of the government, including Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan said they would apply to the UN Security Council if necessary, but Armenia.
