Lavrov confident meeting between Armenian, Azerbaijani, Russian leaders will be held

19.11.2021 | 20:02Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said he is confidence the meeting between Russia and Armenia and Azerbaijan will take place, confirming Moscow’s earlier statement that it requires the consent of the parties. Lavrov made this statement during a joint press conference with OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Swedish Foreign Minister Ann Linde, in response to a reporter’s question.
“You said that the Kremlin’s comment on the forthcoming trilateral meeting was that a consensus is needed for the meeting. I can confirm․ In order for a consensus to be reached, all those who are going to meet must agree. I am sure that such a meeting will take place,” Lavrov said.
Earlier, the Russian president’s press secretary had said that at this stage the consent of all parties is needed for such meeting.
