Case launched in connection with clashes during PM’s visit to Syunik referred to court

10.11.2021 | 19:32The case on the events taken place during the visit of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to Syunik region has been referred to court. Goris Deputy Mayor Menua Hovsepyan and 20 others are accused in the case, including some of the close relatives of Mayor Arush Arushanyan.
They are charged with intentionally grossly violating public order, which was manifested in open disrespect to the society, combined with intentional damage to property.
On April 21, during Nikol Pashinyan’s visit to Meghri and Agarak of Syunik province, a group of people demanded him to leave, then clashed with the police.
Pashinyan says what happened are actions organized by well-known circles that have nothing to do with the people of Agarak and Meghri. He did not names those “circles.”
