Armenian ombudsman presents evidence of cruel treatment of Armenian captives in Azerbaijan

Speaking at the Human Rights Protection Committee of the Italian Parliament yesterday, Armenian Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan presented the reports and solid evidence on the Azerbaijani torture and cruel treatment of the Armenian captives after the war of September-November 2020.
He highlighted the urgency of the return of the Armenian captives held in Azerbaijan, emphasizing that the international requirements are ignored; they are kept for military and political bargaining. He referred to the illegal deployment of Azerbaijani servicemen on the roads between the communities of Armenia after the war, which endangered the lives and health of people. At the heart of human rights abuses, including torture and inhuman treatment, is the Azerbaijani leadership’s hostility policies, which continues through the manifestations of fascism.
