06.10.2021 | 16:27Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdullahian spoke about the situation in the South Caucasus at a joint briefing with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov. He noted that there are concerns related to the region, which he will discuss with Lavrov. He added that the Islamic Republic will not tolerate geopolitical change in the map of the Caucasus.
“We have friendly, fraternal views towards our neighbors, which are aimed at the development of relations. And the fact that statements are made here about relations with one of Iran’s neighbors is disappointing. We are, of course, dissatisfied with these statements, we think that the neighbors of the Islamic Republic of Iran should respond positively to our policy aimed at good neighborliness. We will not tolerate geopolitical change in the map of the Caucasus. We have serious concerns about the presence of terrorists and Zionists in the region,” he said.
