The 78th Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s (HFPA) Awards took place in the United States. Because of the pandemic, it took place via video conference. It was also held at the Rockefeller Center in New York and at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, BBC Russian Service reports.
“Nomad’s Land” won the Golden Globe nomination for Best Dramatic Film. The creator of the film, Chinese Chloé Zhao, received the award for the “Best Director”.
“Queen’s Gambit” won the “Best Mini-Series” and “The Crown” won the best “Dramatic Series”. “Borat 2” directed by Jason Woliner won “The Best Comedy or Musical”.
Andra Day was awarded for the “Best Actress”. He won the award for his role in “The United States vs. Billy Holiday”. The creators of the feature-length film “Soul” were also awarded. “The Crown” became the winner of the evening, receiving a total of four awards. Emma Corrin who plays Princess Diana, and Josh O’Connor, who portrays Prince Charles, on “The Crown” scored the big wins for best acting in a drama. “The Crown” also won the best dramatic TV series.
