13.09.2021 | 12:37Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Leyla Abdullayan has reacted to US Ambassador to Armenia Lynn Tracy’s statement on the status of Nagorno-Karabakh and called it “unacceptable.”
“The issue of the status of Nagorno Karabakh remains on the agenda of the talks under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group,” US Ambassador to Armenia Lynn Tracey had told reporters. In response, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry stated that “such statements by the US Ambassador are unacceptable.”
“We have overcome the conflict, Azerbaijan has secured its territorial integrity and by the order of the President of the country the Eastern Zangezur and Karabakh economic zones have been established. These territories are an integral part of Azerbaijan, there can be no question of status,” Abdullayeva said. She added that “after the signing of the trilateral statement, there was an opportunity to normalize relations on the basis of the principles of international law, and the US representative made a statement that serves to aggravate the situation and create unfounded expectations on the other side.”
