Mirzoyan said consistent steps will be taken to further develop the friendly partnership with the United States, especially in cooperation on democracy, rule of law and the fight against corruption. They discussed the provocative actions taken by Azerbaijan against the sovereign territory of Armenia, as well as the situation created by the Azeri-Turkish aggression against Artsakh. Mirzoyan stressed the need to work with partners to resume talks under the OSCE Minsk Group to settle the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict through key issues in the peace process, including the final clarification of Artsakh’s status. He also added that the withdrawal of the Azerbaijani armed forces from the sovereign territory of Armenia without preconditions may create appropriate conditions for discussing the existing issues and seeking possible solutions, emphasizing that the Armenian government is ready to make efforts to establish peace in the region.
