No damage caused to Vanevan by fragments of downed drone
On July 29, at 23:00, Azerbaijani drones attempted to intrude the Republic of Armenia airspace in the Gegharkunik section of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, Armenian Ministry of Defense said in a statement. The Armenian air defense units hit an Azerbaijani Aerostar drone, the fragments of which fell 3.5 kilometers north of the village of Vanevan in Gegharkunik Province.
Speaking to Factor.am, Vanevan mayor Igor Harutyunyan said they heard the drone hit but as the village is quite far from the border, no damage was caused by the falling fragments of the drone. When asked whether shots were heard from the border areas yesterday, the mayor answered no shootings were heard in the village.
