The trial of Armenian prisoners of war Davit Davtyan and Gevorg Sujyan on fabricated charges continued today in the Baku Court of Grave Crimes. The previous court session took place on July 14.

They are charged with illegal possession of weapons, creation of armed groups, illegal crossing of the state border and espionage.

Sujyan, the founding president of the New Armenia-Homeland-Diaspora Charitable NGO, and Davtyan were taken prisoner on the Berdzor-Shushi road after the ceasefire was established.

Trials of other groups of Armenian prisoners of war continue in Baku; several POWs have already been delivered sentences: Lebanese-Armenian Vigen Euljekekyan was sentenced to 20 years in prison, Shirak prisoners Hrach Avagyan and Gegham Serobyan to four years in prison, and 12 prisoners to six months in prison. The latters, however, returned to Armenia on July 3. Recently, two groups of prisoners of war from Shirak, a total of 26 prisoners, were sentenced to six years in prison.
