The incumbent National Assembly Speaker and a member of the Civil Contract board, Ararat Mirzoyan, submitted a self-recusal application to the CEC, Vahan Kostanyan, an advisor to the NA Speaker told to Factor.am.

The ruling party intends to nominate Alen Simonyan for the post of the National Assembly Speaker. It is not yet known what position Ararat Mirzoyan will hold. Lilit Makunts, the leader of the My Step faction, also announced self-recusal. She will be appointed Armenian Ambassador to the United States.
