The first hearing in the trial of once Armenian Prime Minister Vazgen Manukyan will be held in a Yerevan court today.

Manukyan was charged with Article 301 of the Armenian Criminal Code (public calls to seize power, violate territorial integrity or forcibly overthrow the constitutional order). The opposition figure does not accept the accusation leveled against him, and refused to testify in the Investigations Committee. He claims the statements he has made do not violate the Constitution of Armenia. Manukyan is expected to attend the hearing.
