15.07.2021 | 17:03An important factor hindering the establishment of regional stability and mutual trust is the fact that, despite its commitments, Azerbaijan has not yet returned all Armenian prisoners of war, Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at the beginning of the cabinet meeting.
“In any case, in cooperation with our international partners, we have been able to return 104 prisoners of war so far. We will continue to work for the return of our prisoners of war, a comprehensive settlement of the Karabakh conflict, demarcation of borders, and the opening of regional communications have been and will be among our priorities,” he said.
Pashinyan also said that with these destructive actions, Azerbaijan not only violates the November 9 statement, but also tries to disrupt the process of unblocking the regional infrastructure enshrined in the January 11 trilateral statement.
“Such actions of Azerbaijan are a challenge to international law, to all the forces that are interested in establishing stability and peace in the region, and we will continue our consultations and cooperation with those forces,” Pashinyan said.
“In the last two months, we have had two victims on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. I extend my condolences to the relatives and friends of the victims, to our CSTO partners, to the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs, and to this fact,” he added.
